Troma Internship NYC 4/29-4/30-5/1/11 (Chiller Convention) Bradley Creanzo

To start off I do not recommend ever driving into NYC! I left the house at 8:45AM and did not get to Troma until about 11AM. Over two hours just to get 20 Miles! Unbelievable and people cannot drive. Traffic in the Lincoln Tunnel and especially 34th Street was a nightmare! Aside from that when I arrived at Troma I picked up/loaded everything for the convention into my car and Matt (who works at Troma went with me to the convention). We arrived at about 2PM and began unloading all of the banners, shirts, dvds, equipment, etc. The convention for Friday started at 5PM and ran until 10PM. Spent a good amount of Friday selling merchandise at the Troma table. I did break away for a while and met with some stars. I met Rudy Sarzo (Whitesnake, MARS, Quiet Riot), Simon Wright (AC/DC, Rhino Bucket) and Craig Goldy (Dio, Giuffria). There are pictures on facebook of me with them. I talked for quite a while with Craig. The friend I was with knew him, so that really broke the ice. I ran into him several times thoughout my stay at the hotel. Lloyd wasn't arriving until Saturday, so Friday wasn't as busy as Saturday would get.
I did also pick up several items at the convention, which were very cool among which was a "Nightmare on Elm Street" board game from 1989.

Saturday was very busy. With Lloyd being there people were of course buying merchandise so he could autograph it. The hottest items were "Combat Shock", Class of Nuk'em High", "Cannibal The Musical" and "There's Nothing Out There". I also had my friend donate his time to the Troma Table and he dressed up as The Toxic Avenger. There are pictures on the troma facebook of him as Toxie and also some pictures with me helping and handling the Troma table. Lloyd really drew a decent crowd of people. I did spend some time also meeting with other celebrities like Britt Ekland (The Wicker Man), Maud Adams (Man with the Golden Gun), Kelli Maroney (Night of the Comet), Mark Patton (Nightmare on Elm Street pt. 2), Amanda Wyss (Nightmare on Elm Street) & Gary Busey (Lethal Weapon) to name just a few.
It's always fun to be among fellow actors and movie people at these conventions. I did some networking as well by handing out my business cards and talking to filmmakers and actors. I also got the contact information for some of the celebrities I met, so who knows once I have a small budget behind me I'll get them to appear in my films!

The Troma table was busy throughout the entire day of Saturday. At night there were several concerts going on from 9PM until 3AM. Gary Busey was supposed to sing Buddy Holly songs, but he appeared to be in a mood and didn't go on stage.

Sunday was not as busy as Saturday, but I did meet some more people; for example, Hal Linden (Barney Miller) and Claudio Simonetti (composer of many italian horror soundtracks). Merchandise at the table was selling especially since we did some special Sunday only deals. The most amazing thing was how much stuff I could fit in my car. Considering I have a camero no expects it to fit very much, but everything that we had at out table: dvds, shirts, banners, stands, etc all fit (just barely) in my car. Overall I made some contacts and enjoyed working the Troma table. Selling stuff is very fun. After the convention I drove everything back to Jersey City instead of having to drive into godawful NYC again. I like coming here, but hate driving hear. Doing coventions for Troma is the only exception to my driving rule.

Also it looks like I'll be helping out with another convention again in June with Troma at Saturday Nightmares in New Jersey from June 3rd-5th.

Troma Internship NYC 4/26-4/27/11 Bradley Creanzo

Spent most of Tuesday doing some at home work relating to the short film, "What Waits in the Dark". Began capturing footage and editing in Final Cut 6.0. The movie should be out around late September or early October. Also for my other film project "The Bible Belt Slasher Pt. 2" I've gotten permission from Lloyd Kaufman to use several Troma movie poster in my film. There are several scenes in a college girl's dorm room and it will have Troma posters all over the wall. A little product placement you might say.

The continuation of another project will be taking place soon. "Hour of Vengeance", which I shot some footage for last August will resume production as of late June. I'm getting ready to finish the script for it so I can get things going.

Also I'm helping out with the Chiller Convention this weekend: April 29th-May 1st at the Hilton Hotel in Parsisspany, NJ.

Troma Internship NYC 4/19-4/20/11

I spent Tuesday working on "What Waits in the Dark" in Union, New Jersey. Wednesday I came in and did some more office relaqted work. Website updates, which was mostly checking the running time of movies to make sure they were correct and I did some more artwork scanning to put up on the website. I worked with photoshop and had to resize some images and search through the Troma database for DVD box artwork. I ran some small errand also.

Troma Internship NYC 4/12-4/13/11 Bradley Creanzo

More of the basics this week with uploading dvd box art for movies on the Troma Website. Scanning and uploading is pretty much what I did for most of this week. I did some odd and ends running errands, but nothing that was any different from what I've been doing. I've spent some time also working on my Bible Belt Slasher Pt.2 script. I just filmed the doctor's office scene about a week ago and it came out pretty good. Just need to edit it together now. My friend Rich's movie begins production next week and I'll be working on that aside from my project and I also purchased more gear while at the internship in NYC(boom pole, more lights for my kit and some gels). The movie I mentioned above is "What Waits in the Dark". I'll be doing several key jobs: Actor (I'm playing the killer), Lighting, Camera/DP and assistant director.
The movie is a haunted house flick (it's not "Paranormal Activity", thank god)! More like a cross between "Halloween" (Carpenter's 1978 classic) and "Home Sweet Home" from 1980.

Spent a lot of time on line doing more website updates. This time I had to scan artwork for movie titles that did not have artwork onto the website. Some titles were, "Prime Target", "Luther the Geek", Pep Squad", etc. I did a lot of titles. This took up most of the day and the next day I continued the same for most of it along with running some typical errands: weighing boxes for shipping, packing boxes for the Tromadance film festival and other things: T-shirts, book, dvd, pins, etc. I was busy the whole day and left a bit early due to the fact that I needed to prepare to film my movie "The Bible Belt Slasher Pt. 2". Oh also, I had to go to B & H to pick up some equipment. I also bought myself a boom pole and some gels for my lights while I was there. Damn boom pole cost me $ 130! What a rip-off. A great pole, but I think I gopt raped on the price. B & H shopuld really be inspected by better business bureau because they royally rip people off it seems.

Today at Troma I did some more website work in putting up titles and correcting any mistakes among them. I also filmed 2 different short interview pieces with Lloyd Kaufman, which some one is using as extras for their dvd movie release. Can't remember what it's for, but the interviews are comically based and relate to being on the set of a movie, which Lloyd actually wasn't on, so he made up stuff to say and the other was some Mexican/Spanish type of interview piecc which revolved around questions that related to something of a Mexican/Spanish nature. I have the question script somewhere, but for right now I think that sums it up pretty good.

Troma Internship NYC 3/22-3/2311 Bradley Creanzo

This week at Troma I spent a lot of time working on creating links for the Troma store. Most of the titles on the website have the option to link to netflix (to view the movies online), Amazon.com (to purchase movies), Troma Store Link (for purchasing also) and also Youtube (to post trailers to get people to notice). I spent the whole day doing this basically. At the end of the day I had to help out with a short Toxic Avenger promo. I had to crush a man's head with my boots.
